Driven by breeder reactors, we have potential to provide power for literally millions of years.

India has to take steps in this regard, because the current energy policy based on oil have become very unsustainable, manifesting in rising food prices.

Clearly, nuclear power is the way to go.

The developed world may have the luxury of burning fossil fuels for their economy, but we in India cannot afford to be this stupid.

The anti-nuclear crowd in India have their heads buried deeply in their asses.Ray Lightninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08882462553270746059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13437119.post-21078009472712608152007-08-11T13:06:00.000+05:302007-08-11T13:06:00.000+05:30Here is one promising technology that is not getti...Here is one promising technology that is not getting the backing it needs to make or break it:

Bussard Fusion Reactor
Easy Low Cost No Radiation Fusion

So I have decided to do an end run around the government by designing an open source fusion test reactor.

Any one care to help? Why select C...You select people very intelligently. Why select Chitamdaram, why not A. N. Prasad or Setna. No one is really talking about costs here. We have hard time justifying the cost of nuclear power and if you use US mandated reprocessing safe gaurds then we will be doomed. The other best alternative is to construct 1000 coal power plants. BTW coal can be imported without any restrictions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13437119.post-71651269225330235802007-08-10T19:12:00.000+05:302007-08-10T19:12:00.000+05:30The objectionable thing about this all deal is not...The objectionable thing about this all deal is not the conten but the manner in which Government went for it. The behaviour of the Govt. of India and the secrecy it maintained raised too many doubts about this deal. These doubts will persist even after long explainations given by those in the know. The main point is this, what made Indian Govt. change its stance and allow a reprocessing plant to be st up here within two months (as was informed by the Assistant Secretary of State Nicolas Burns in his press briefings.)Devidashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17017115778516601878noreply@blogger.com
