They have been very well researched and had more light than heat. I agree with you that the deal as negotiated with the Bush administration is a good one for both sides. I also agree with you that now the Manmohan government has to tread carefully and show in deeds how they are going to run relations with other countries based on "enlightened national interest". So every move of their's has to be scrutinised atleast by the fourth estate. A detente with US need not necessarily mean becoming a vassal state as the Nixon-Mao openeing in the seventies showed. But it needs careful examination of each issue based on the merits of the case.
