It's now 2011 and if only the world had known what was to come - now we have hindsight giving perspective to what happened when the western world went to war because of weapons of mass destruction fear mongering, Perhaps if Butler had really lived up to the term diplomat he would have learnt about the Iraqi culture and understood how men in that world would prefer to be feared rather than admitting how small their armaments were. I will never forget those scenes of the United Nations trucks racing through the vast desert and flat nothingness desperate to find something well before September 11 and well before we now know there was no huge store of nuclear weapons nor anthrax. Saddam was a dangerous dictator sure, but instead of calming and being peacekeepers, the United Nations Unscom branch under Butler fired up the flames and built the stage for what was to come.
